Learning Proper SEO Techniques Will Increase Your Traffic And Sales

July 23rd, 2011 No comments

SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is one of those things that can make or break an online business. It is so important to find ways to get your message out and motivate others to visit your website to get more information. It is very unlikely you will ever have much success if you don’t learn how to effectively market your sites.

Internet Marketing involves learning about and keeping up with the best marketing techniques and practices. It is not unusual to find little changes that can increase your traffic and sales. Learning to test your sales materials, landing pages, and other factors will ensure you have constant results and you’ll build upon your success.

It is highly recommended you avoid any techniques or shortcuts you may come across often referred to as ‘Black Hat’. These tactics might provide some quick results, however, if you wish to have a long-lasting presence and reputation, it will be better to avoid the temptation to use them. Learn from those that have employed successful practices and principles, it will be worth it in the long run.

Not only will marketing methods change, so will the algorithms that search engines use. Their goal is simply to provide their users with the most relevant search results for any given term. Changes and updates they make may affect your rankings at times. However, if you are using sound and proven techniques, you should be able to recover quite quickly with some minor tweaks.

One practice that goes a long way in helping you get that valuable traffic, so you make more sales, is learning how to find potentially profitable keywords. The key is to find those words that a lot of people use, yet there are less websites in place that you will be competing against. Many different approaches to doing this are offered online.

Once you find those high-value keywords, you can use them in domain names, or just start posting on your site, using them in the most effective ways. You’ll also use them for link building. The idea is to use them as anchor text so you start getting links that point to your website, or the page where there is more information. You can also use them when commenting on blogs and forums related to those items you’re marketing.

To increase the value of the posts and articles you write, it is important to learn how to effectively use Latent Semantic Indexing (LSI). These are words that are directly related to your keywords and when included will add relevance to what you have written. You’ll also will want to learn the best ways to make the most of all the social media sites to increase your exposure and find those interested in your offers. You’ll also get more valuable backlinks that will increase the importance of your website. All of these are things you will want to do so that over time your website will show up higher in search results for the terms you want to rank for.

The biggest advantage is that these are SEO practices that will give you long-term results. How much success you attain with your marketing efforts will depend a lot on how effectively you learn to apply these principles. At the same time, if you try to cheat the system, you’re very likely to see a loss of visitors, sales, and perhaps see your site disappear from any search engine results.

Keyword Marketing Done the Right Way

July 20th, 2011 No comments

Every web marketer is able to see the importance of visitors from the targeted search engines; when it comes to superiority there is no other form of traffic that can compare to organize search engine traffic. And the most excellent part? You don’t have to pay anything to gain visitors from the search engines. If it’s that painless, then the question gets posed – why are so few people doing this? The reason for that is lack of good keyword marketing. You need to be wary when picking out your keywords which you target on your website and on various online promotions if you want to get the greatest results. In the following article we will be talking about options for effectively utilizing keyword marketing to produce targeted traffic.

Don’t Overlook Last Minute Keywords: Every online marketer is looking for keywords that aren’t overly competitive, which of course makes it easier to rank well. “Last minute” keywords, which are based on getting something as soon as possible, are a good example of this kind of keyword. Many marketers don’t think of these keywords, as they’re only thinking about the product itself and not how soon the customer can get it. Since you don’t want to mislead visitors, make sure that you have something to offer people who reach your site by clicking on these last minute keywords. This is a whole category of keywords that, once you start thinking about it, can immediately give you access to lots of new possibilities when you want to promote something. When thinking of keywords, you sometimes have to think outside the box and look at all the different ways people might be searching.

You Don’t Need a Costly Keyword Tool: As you start learning about keyword marketing, you may consider buying a keyword research tool with a hefty price tag. However, the right approach to this is to start off with free tools that are already available. Unless and until you make yourself familiar with the basics of keyword research and do it manually, how will you understand the software tool well enough? In order to evaluate a keyword research tool, you need to first understand where the data is being generated from. The External Keyword Tool that Google itself makes available for free is at least as good as anything else. Free in this case doesn’t mean second rate, as many knowledgeable entrepreneurs use this tool even though they could afford to buy costly alternatives. Since Google obviously has unrestricted access to its own data, who could be in a better position to give you accurate keyword information?

Reach Your Target Audience: The main factor to consider when selecting keywords should be to find the specific market that’s most likely to respond to your offers. If, for instance, you’re selling notebook computers, you should be targeting that particular market, not something more general like “computers.” It’s a question of finding keywords that are aimed at your target audience. You should select keywords that will bring you the visitors most likely to spend money on your site. You can save yourself a lot of trouble by properly targeting your keywords, as you’ll be getting the kind of traffic that converts. In this article, we’ve looked at some of the most important aspects of keyword marketing, which is something you have to pay attention to if you want to get the best possible results. Remember that the keywords that you use in your articles, blog posts or landing pages will have a big impact on the type of traffic you attract.

SEO Strategy – How To Simplify The Whole SEO Process

If you’re a full-time online marketer and webmaster, you may get the feeling (in my case a stubborn opinion) that because SEO has become such a big industry, it has to be “complicated up” rather than “dumbed down” for the receiving audience. In other words, it is in the best interest of SEO firms and services, to make SEO seem like a much more complex process than it actually is in practice.

This applies doubly true for when it comes to ranking high in Google. Many SEO firms go into all kinds of “linking structures”, “site metrics”, “keyword correlations”, “onpage factors”… in explaining how to achieve those top Google spots for lucrative keywords. Granted, the Google Algorithm has over 200 ranking signals or factors, which they use to rank pages. And this mathematical formula is constantly being redefined or altered by major changes, such as the recent Panda Update, which left many webmasters reeling. But…

While Google’s ranking Algorithm and system might be the most complex creature on the planet, ranking high in Google is a very simple process. So simple anyone can do it and achieve first page listings in Google. It’s not rocket science and it’s not complex by any stretch of the imagination. However, it does take some work on the part of the webmaster to actively promote his or her site. In other words, if you just create a perfect site and place it on the web and do nothing else – chances are extremely high you won’t get those top rankings in Google, at least not for the highly competitive lucrative keyword phrases.

This is where SEO (Search Engine Optimization) enters the picture and takes over. You must get certain factors/signals right if you want your site to truly compete in major search engine keyword battles. But most of these things or factors are not difficult or hard to understand, you just need to have them in place if you want top listings in the search engines.

Here are some things you can do to simplify the whole SEO process:

1. Try to create a short domain with your targeted keyword in the domain name, go with a .com domain if you can get it and if you have to use a multi-worded domain, try to get your keyword at the beginning.

2. Create an “easy to navigate” unique content rich site which is optimized for the search engines, but directed solidly at solving your visitor’s needs. If you’re on a budget, one of the easiest ways to do this is to use the free WordPress software/platform to create a keyword optimized site. Make sure this site is totally intertwined with all the latest social networking programs such as Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, Linkedin, YouTube… make sure you have profiles/accounts in all of these platforms to compliment your main site.

3. Link to main interior pages from your home or index page. These interior pages should have your targeted keywords in the “Title”, “URL”, “Meta Tags”, “H1 Headings”, “First Paragraph”, “Last Paragraph” and use keyword variations throughout the content. Place a few in bold print and italics. Don’t be afraid to create large pages and link out to other authority sites in your niche. Don’t worry about keyword density unless it goes over 4%… this should not happen if you write naturally for your visitor and not for the search engines.

4. Build quality one-way links by creating articles, press releases, blog posts, videos, viral reports… and submit these to the major places on the web such as free article directories (my favorites are still ezinearticles, goarticles, buzzle, ideamarketers, isnare and article alley). The real trick here is to consistently produce fresh content, which steadily builds your backlinks month after month, year after year, decade after decade!

5. Do whatever you can do to enrich your visitor’s experience. Add valuable free content, free ebooks or ecourses, offer comprehensive guide or guides to your visitors. Connect all this free content to your autoresponder opt-in list or newsletter and build repeat targeted traffic to your site. In addition, make it extremely easy for these visitors to bookmark/follow your content in all the social media sites: Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, Google +1, and so on.

6. Rinse and Repeat. One of the little known tactics about achieving top rankings in the search engines, especially Google, is to create not one site but two or more sites in your niche market. (If you’re on a budget or time is short, try creating two pages on the your domain related to the same targeted keyword.) Instead of trying to rank for one site in Google, create two complimentary sites on the same related keywords, and you will find it much easier to get to the top spots. Interlink these sites and you can even promote them together, just make sure they each have unique content and adds more detail and/or information for the visitor.

Over the years, I have come to believe strongly, achieving high rankings is not some complex process but just a matter of persistence. Consistently promoting your content by building quality backlinks will get you to the top and keep you there. But the whole trick is persistence, keeping at it, day after day… building those links back to your content. I also believe it is the number of backlinks which is the key and this has been proven to me many times over the years. Many SEO experts will now argue that links have taken a back seat to other factors such as site authority and structure, but I am not convinced this has happened. At least not yet, but data from the 160+ million Google Chrome users and the new Google +1 Button, may eventually lower the importance of backlinks and PageRank.

However, at the present time, if I stop promoting a page or competitive keyword, it usually drops from the first page of Google. To get it back on the first page, all I have to do is promote it with a few articles, blog posts, press releases, videos… and it jumps back into the top spots, even Post Panda. For years, I had a webpage for “list building” in Google on the first page, then I stopped promoting it with keyword related articles, posts, content… it dropped to the third page of Google. Changing none of the ranking factors mentioned above, I was quickly able to get that page and ranking back to the #5 spot by simply creating some current backlinks to the content. I mention all this because many times, SEO firms and experts will try to complicate things with convoluted explanations and complex processes. While in actual fact, achieving high rankings can be simplified down to nothing more than persistence and adding a few quality backlinks.

Finding The Right SEO Service Company Is One Major Key To The Success Of Your Business Online

July 2nd, 2011 No comments

Seeking as well as finding a reputable SEO service should be an easy and pleasurable task. This is because there are many Search Engine Optimization (SEO) experts online, most of whom come from a writing background. SEO basically involves the use of strategies to make a piece of information on the World Wide Web friendlier to Net surfers and automated search engines alike. The even better news is that the Information Superhighway is becoming more and more an even playing field, what with the approaches for human and robot information seekers beginning to mirror each other.

For example, what works for a human Web surfer also works for a search engine spider like Inktomi. Before this alignment, meaningless words repeated as many times as possible were a fodder for the spiders crawling the Internet, but through the years these bots have become more discerning. Sophisticated algorithms make contemporary search robots more effective and enable them to archive information that is content-rich, original and meaningful. This is why a reputable and reliable SEO service should have the right SEO consultant who knows how to organize and customize data in order to make them palatable to information seekers both human and otherwise.

A good rule of thumb to follow when looking to hire a dependable SEO service is to go with an SEO freelancer with a solid reputation for delivering on his or her Web traffic promise. Referrals are key to picking the right organization or person. Do not settle for mere quotations from supposedly satisfied customers plastered all over the provider’s Web site. Often, these personal statements are manufactured. Thus, it is wiser to inquire with other people who are looking for the same thing, either by word of mouth or via email. Social networking should be able to help the seeker find organizations that deserve the business. It does not cost much to procure high-quality articles from providers. The going rate is roughly $1 per one hundred words, which is a pittance or a drop in the bucket compared to how much print authors are getting paid these days.

Of course, as the Content Is King movement continues to make progress, rates can only go higher. Hence, the onus is on the seekers of SEO service to buy as much content online as they can; now, while the market is still skewed towards buyers. While there are no indications the prices are going up any time soon, it is a good idea to stock up on content while it is useful. At the rate that new information travels on the Web, today’s content could be history tomorrow. It is rather like the rosebuds that the classical poet Robert Herrick refers to in one of his most memorable poems: “And this same flower that smiles to-day. Tomorrow will be dying.”

To Rank Your Website Faster On Top Of Google, You Need An SEO Agency To Do That For You

June 30th, 2011 No comments

In today’s business world using a knowledgeable SEO agency can be key to getting an organization’s website seen by their target audience. In the last few years, search engine optimization has become a very important factor in how an organization markets its products and services. While many have some knowledge of these techniques, in order to have a truly effective campaign, a business may find that they need the services of an SEO freelancer or company.

An SEO agency can offer an organization many benefits. Not only does such a firm already have staff on-hand but the staff members are generally well-trained in the area of search engine optimization. These members make up an instant team with knowledge and experience that can be invaluable in helping an organization optimize their website. For many companies having a personal SEO consultant from such a firm, can help them tremendously. The consultant can work with key members of the business and determine their needs and then develop a campaign that will serve those needs in the best and fastest way possible. This can be a big change from having an in-house department who can merely design and operate a website. A specialist will be able to pinpoint and promote the most important aspects.

In addition, having an SEO agency can save a great deal of time. Rather than being involved in the day-to-day operations of such work, with an agency the company can simply receive updates and reports from the firm they hire. This can free up time for the business to concentrate on their own work, rather than ways to get their website noticed. Because an agency is performance driven and striving to keep the business as a client, they will generally produce better work in a quicker time frame. This can also be a real asset to a company.

In today’s high-tech world it is important to stay on top of the latest techniques and using an SEO agency can help in accomplishing this. Most agencies will make sure that their staff stays on top of the latest techniques for optimizing an organization’s website. This can be a wonderful advantage for a business who is trying to keep their business and/or products seen by current customers and potential clients. By using an agency a business can rely on updates and reports to check on the status of their campaigns rather than spending a lot of their time working on them. This can free up their time to continue with their primary work.

There are many indicators that will tell you whether or not a company uses the right strategies and has the experience needed to deliver the kind of rankings they have promised. Many companies will claim that they have the best SEO services, but you have to make sure they have the record to back that up. One thing to be suspicious of is any company that guarantees a specific result in a certain time frame. Search engines never reveal their algorithms, so guarantees are impossible. In many cases the companies with guarantees are going to use unethical tactics to get a website to the top of the rankings, but search engines frown own those tactics and reward them with penalties or bans. Next, make sure the company you choose is completely transparent with you about their SEO services. Every company will have its own procedures and practices that set it apart, and while they wont necessarily share with you every detail of their work, they should be very clear when they describe what techniques they are using on behalf of your website.

Take the time to look into the history of the SEO company and see what other websites they have worked on. Make sure they have documentation of the success they’ve had for the various companies they have worked for. Your online presence is critically important in the modern business world, and you should not trust your Internet marketing to just anyone. Take the time to make sure you will receive the best quality SEO services you need to climb the rankings and stay there.

The Advantage Of Local Search Engine Marketing

June 27th, 2011 No comments

Local search engine marketing is an effective online marketing strategy for local businesses. Even webmasters are understanding of the need for local SEO for making local company websites more visible. The purpose of search engine opitimization is to optimize a website so that it will achieve higher rankings in the search engine results pages.

However, even webmasters sometimes misunderstand how a site can maintain a high page ranking in the search engines. The best kind of SEO will drive a lot of visitors to the page who are outside of the target market as well as within it. If you have someone who is an expert at SEO, they will be able to focus more on conversion rather than simply focusing on getting the higher rankings.

SEO is one of the most vital parts of online marketing. This is precisely why many business owners end up hiring technical experts to take care of their local search engine marketing for their websites. Anytime a local company is just starting to create their company pages, it is always going to be a good idea to hire out programmers and developers who are already experienced with fully optimizing a site. Once the site has been built, the SEO is going to need to be fully maintained. If this is not done, the local business will discover that any of their competition is going to be able to run them over when it comes to page rankings.

If a business has a website that is SEO optimized with a high conversion rate, it will be maximizing its fullest local online marketing potential. There is a lot more detail involved in localizing a business than there is in globalized marketing. However, due to the fact that local internet marketing tends to target a very specific market, SEO experts should be able to be successful at getting the job done with their optimization efforts. It will definitely be necessary to have at least a vague understanding of how the local area works.

The biggest part of search engine marketing is keyword optimization. The keywords have to be specific and highly targeted. There are certain keywords and phrases that a specific target market will relate to. Whenever a web developer, designer or SEO consultant is localizing a web page they must make themselves aware of these terms.

This type of marketing will be the most successful only when the optimizer manages to focus the right amount of attention on the target market. Whenever the inbound and outbound links are being created for the pages, there should be more focus placed on relevance than Meta keyword tagging. This is simply because if people land on a site that has absolutely nothing to do with what they were looking for in the first place, it isn’t going to do anything to help the site, the business, or the conversion rate.

In conclusion, the businesses who have decided to use local search engine marketing are going to have a considerable advantage over others, so it is suggested that if you are not one of these businesses already it is time to consider joining the ranks- before you get outranked.

Search Engine Placement: Tips on Getting Your Site Recognized

June 26th, 2011 No comments

So many factors go into search engine placement in order for it to be effective. In many cases professional search engine placement services are employed to give you the best online results possible. It is important to take into consideration many different elements when examining the best route to accomplish search engine placement for your online business.

The following are some tips to help in the quest for optimal search engine placement for your website.

1) It is important that you use the key words that you are focusing on in the title of the article or information you are presenting. A good title is one in which brings a search engine to the information you are presenting. It is important to use the target key words in the Meta title of the website also.

2) The anchor text should also be used to promote the site key words. If possible they should ultimately link back to the website. Anchor text should be chosen to target the keywords you are after for the search engines to recognize.

3) Another area is the popularity of your site in regards to other sites that are linking in to yours. Every time you write a blog entry or have information represented on another site that links to your site what tells a search engine that your site is okay. It is almost as bad as a middle school popularity contest. The more links that like your site the more likable your site is. That is basically how search engines look at it.

4) Of course the longer your site has been on the web the better also. Keep updating information to make it relevant. After time your patience will pay off.

5) Link the pages within your site back to your home page. This also helps with search engine placement.

6) Make sure that the pages in your site are relevant to your keywords when linking them back to the home page. The homepage should also focus on the same keywords you want recognized by the search engines.

7) Make sure that when using other sites to link to yours that you are using sites that are well liked within the web. It is the popularity of the sites linking to yours also that will have search engines recognize you.

8) It is important that your keyword is used in the text. How often and when also is relevant. Make sure your keyword is used and that the text is relevant to the key words you want recognized by major search engines.

As you can tell there is a lot that goes into search engine placement. Your ranking within these search engines is what will get visitors to your site. If you rank within the first page of a search engine it is more likely that people will click on your site before one on the second, third or fifth. That is the goal in search engine placement is to get your site on the first page of the search engine. Follow the steps above and you should be well set on your way to increased search engine placement.

How to Keep Your Search Engine Rank Constant

June 25th, 2011 No comments

While not difficult, it does take time and effort to optimize your website for Google and other major search engines. You’ll still need to put in work even once you get the ranking; consistent monitoring, optimizing and tweaking is needed to keep your rank. So you can do exactly that, some SEO maintenance tips are given below.

Keep Your Link Building Efforts Balanced: Your main objective should be to make a good, long term impression on Google and the other search engines so that your ranking becomes stable. One of the very best ways to do this is through the use of “balanced” link building. In other words, you need to work on adding high quality backlinks to your website on a long time but consistent basis. When your link building isn’t steady that sends up warning flares–don’t think you can accomplish the same goal by adding a bunch of links in a day but nothing more for weeks.

Websites worth their good reputations allow their links to build organically without having to do a lot about it. You need to show all of the search engines that your website actually matters and that you are trustworthy. Indulging in blackhat SEO methods will only hurt you later on in terms of your website’s rank. Avoid using any automated link building software tools that are designed to spam the search engines. You can make your website look better if you stick to the valuable and proven methods of balanced link building. Rather than trying to raise your search engine ranks through cheating, show the engines that your site is actually credible.

Keep an Eye on Your Analytics: It is important, especially when working with SEO, to pay attention to your analytics. The analytics that exist for your website will provide you with the important information that you will need to raise your rankings and keep them high. Regularly monitor your web analytics so that you’ll know which keywords send in the most traffic, what is trending and so on.

Every person who knows about SEO knows how important it is to study your analytics so that you know what you need to change and improve to get ahead of the competition.

Grow Your Awareness: The world of search engine optimization changes every day, which is why you shouldn’t lose focus and grow your awareness. Continue learning about SEO and keep yourself updated as best you can. Keeping your rank maintained is easier if you are aware of the updates happening and by doing what others aren’t. It may take only the smallest of actions to result in rock solid stability for your website on Google and other search engines, so stay active, focused and aware.

Search engine optimization is an important skill for any Internet marketer and webmaster, and using it consistently is the only way you can improve your search engine rankings and maintain it.

Hire An SEO Specialist Today And See How This Can Help Reach Your Business Goals Faster

June 25th, 2011 No comments

In order to increase profits and utilize all of the advertising venues that may be available, many businesses of all sizes and several individuals are turning to the internet. While this is a great way of achieving these goals and more, some may not be that familiar with how to best utilize this technology. That’s why so many have turned to the seo specialist services that are available. This option can not only save time and money, but can help the business or individual reach the targeted audience, increase sales and get noticed.

What Can an SEO Consultant Do?

In a nutshell, the seo freelancer or another qualified specialist can help increase the rankings and ultimately the traffic of the website. This is key to promoting sales and remaining profitable. SEO, or simply search engine optimization is one of the determining factors in placement of the website, among other things on popular search engines. Those that rank high are found more easily when the individual searches for a particular item, term or service. Low ranking sites are harder to find and do not receive the maximum amount of traffic. When this happens, the site suffers in multiple ways.

How Much Does It Cost?

As with any other type of savvy business tool, the services of an seo specialist are not free and prices will vary by the individual or company. However, there may be several low cost quality options that are available and some will even offer discounts for using other services or contracting a large quantity of work. While some may choose to delegate the task to an individual within the company in order to save money, this may often backfire. Simply put, many simply do not lack the experience and knowledge which can hinder efforts at internet marketing. Most are far better off spending a little money on these services and enjoying the generous returns that it can provide.

Choosing Someone You Can Trust

There are a variety of businesses and individuals that proclaim to specialize within this area and it’s important to select among specialists carefully. In addition to various prices, some may also offer additional services. Looking at past work and knowing what will be received is the cornerstone to finding a reliable and efficient search engine optimization service. In some cases, poor search optimizing can be worse than none when it comes to maximizing website traffic.
