What is Passive Income?

Passive income is the money that is deposited in your account without you having to do anything to earn it (once the system is set up). Your earnings through passive income can bear absolutely no relation to the amount of work that you do for it. If you follow the rules to set up your system correctly and select a hot product, you can start to cream in an embarrassingly large amount of money whilst you are doing something else (like playing tennis or sleeping). The reason that this is possible is that your system is automated. Therefore your sales can be totally unrelated to the amount of work that you have put in. Getting Credited for Sales Using The Power of Affiliate Links. As an affiliate marketer you aim to make commissions from your sales. In order to be credited for your sales, the vendor needs to know that you were responsible for making that sale. How is this done? Have you got to contact the vendor of the product every time that one of your leads or customers makes a purchase? No, you don’t. In the modern world of affiliate marketing, the whole system is automated for both you and the vendor. This is another powerful reason that affiliate marketing can make you so much money while you sleep. This is achieved by the use of affiliate links.

Affiliate links are unique internet links that take the person who clicks on them to a web page associated with the product which is for sale and automatically register with the vendor’s system the fact that you have referred a particular person to that site. The automatic system might identify the potential customer by the unique electronic identity number of their home computer or laptop or it might identify them with you when they share their details with the vendor’s website in a webform. Either way, the advanced technology intrinsic in these affiliate links will ensure that you get credited with any purchases that visitor makes from that vendor either immediately or a long way into the future! So, for example, you could be earning affiliate commissions from a person who buys a product from one of your vendors years after you first referred them!

You will be rewarded for all the marketing efforts that you made in order to get the customer to click on your link when they buy a product and you pick up the commission.

Masking “Ugly” Affiliate Links. Be aware that the ALs often contain a long sequence of random numbers and letters which make the link unique to you. These usually appear aesthetically “ugly” to the eye. Some people feel that customers are less likely to click on an ugly link or URL (uniform resource locator) in this format. If you agree with that philosophy then you can always “mask the link”. This means changing what the link looks like. For example: if your unique link was something like www.productoffer.com/JohnDoe/76576tbeicf79egde8

you could make the link Click Here but hide your affiliate link behind this. This is a little bit technical but it is really quite easy to do. In Microsoft Word, just go to Insert, Hyperlink. Then put your preferred link text in the “Text to display” field and copy your true affiliate link into the “Address” field. There you go. You’ve got yourself a fully masked hyperlink.

Don’t Re-invent the Wheel. When you are selecting your niche you don’t need to re-invent the wheel. You don’t need to scour the globe looking for the sub-niche that no-one else has thought of that you can dominate and clean up with all of the possible profits. Be realistic. That won’t happen. It doesn’t need to happen. There are some niches out there that are just so profitable that anyone can make a serious amount of money by just mopping up the crumbs from the table if they go about it in the right way. Finally, once and for all, the 4 most profitable niches that you should be concentrating all of your marketing efforts on, are:

1. Money 2. Health 3. Relationships 4. Salvation

This knowledge alone is worth thousands and I have just saved you from hours of fruitless labour trying to market in other niches. These are the keys to your future success, financial freedom and passive income. Let me expand on them further.

The Money Niche. This one niche is so important that I am going to spend a lot of time talking about it. The world is full of people looking for the next big thing. Everyone wants to discover the next best way to make money online. They are looking for a way out of their dreaded 9-5 job and their wage-slave existence. If you can give them a way out, you will make money. The trouble is, most people are looking for some magic button: a quick fix. It just doesn’t exist. There are plenty of people promoting bogus products and solutions that just don’t deliver, much to the angst of the poor customer. You will learn to call these people “opportunity seekers”. Now there are ways to make money online and develop a passive income but there’s no magic. There’s no one special trick that will make you a millionaire in 5 minutes flat.
